Create a Loving Relationship with Self and Others - Heart Chakra

Welcome to Over a Cup of Tea with Celia M.
Chakra Series ~  4 of 7

This week I have chosen this beautiful green tea cup for its green colour which is the same color of our fourth chakra known as the Heart Chakra. Interesting the bottom of the cup has a raised imprint that reads FOR LIFE ... no handle on this cup - so you can easily cradle it in both hands.

Fourth Chakra - The Heart Chakra ~ aka the Anahata, is located in the region of the physical heart. The heart chakra is the center of your spirit as well as the center of the chakras. It is a vital energy center for our spiritual, mental, and physical well-being. It is associated with love, compassion, safety, trust, adventure, self-compassion, forgiveness, and relationships.

If the heart chakra becomes unbalanced, you may feel detached from the world around you.  With each breath we take we become connected to our physical and spiritual world, and if the heart chakra is unbalanced or blocked can lead to a disconnection from the people we love, love for ourselves, and love for the earth.  We lose sight of beauty, love, empathy, compassion and challenges in our relationships (with self and others) is heightened and we begin to feel a sense of despair.

Symptoms of Imbalance:
Emotional : Sadness, passivity, loneliness, co-dependence, insensitivity, emotionally closed

Physical : Cardiovascular problems, respiratory problems, arthritis, hypertension, stroke.

Three simple ways to help balance your Heart Chakra:

~ Sit comfortably, eyes closed breathing in and out, listening to each breath and feeling your heart beat with each inhale and exhale. With each breath visualize the air coming in, enveloping your your heart and filling it with warmth and peace from all directions.

Steep a cup of green tea and pink rosebuds blend and repeat the following affirmations as you sip your tea:

I am a messenger of love
I am expressing my true heart
I am free to express my love with all
I freely give my love and heart to self and others
I am making a difference
I am kind and loving to self and others

Sit comfortably, feet flat on the ground, close your eyes and visualize a green disk/ball spinning at the base of your heart - feel the vibration and motion of it spinning gently breath in and out - with each breath the disk/ball becomes stronger and spins at a consistent speed smoothly and balanced.

Benefits of balancing and opening the heart chakra enables your ability to love your self and others. Reconnects you to the loving world giving you freedom to feel compassion, empathy and forgiveness towards others. A balanced heart chakra also enables you to re-connect with your inner child, allowing you to see the world through rose coloured glasses and embracing life. Relationship with self and others flourishes with peace and harmony.

Love and Blessings,

Accessorizing A Little Black Dress

Being in the city has provided many opportunities for enjoying dinner out. A LBD is perfect for that last minute plans. Though sidewalks are dry and snow free in the city, the boulevards are often covered in high piles (of now frozen hard) snow - so boots are required.
Dress: Zara - (from 8 years ago)
Boots: Black leather (from 8 years ago)

Simple accessories are perfect for the LBD.
Watch: Cartier Tank Francaise
Bracelet: Protection Eye from a street market in Turkey

Recently I was the lucky winner of a giveaway hosted by Celia Lindsell whose boutique is filled with amazing Lifestyle Accessories. I first learned of Celia Lindsell via her blog when I read about her fabulous Lavender Honey on another blog ( I can't recall the blogger) a couple of years ago. I did order some honey and let me tell you it is absolutely YUMMY!!!

Back to the giveaway ... I was beyond thrilled when I learned that I was the winner of these GORGEOUS fur wrist warmers... These warm and elegant pure wool Wrist Warmers are trimmed with the softest Eco Possum Fur and lined with pure silk. They can be worn under a jacket or coat and are the perfect winter accessory for evening wear.

I decided to pair mine with my LBD and think they were a perfect accent! ~ got lots of compliments when out for dinner. I didn't get a photo with my coat - but they really added a touch of elegance. Thank you Celia Lindsell for the beautiful items you carry in your boutique.

P.S. - the fur wrist warmers are available in camel (the ones I chose), jet black and winter white.

How do you accessorize your little black dress?

Feel Good in Your Skin - Balance Your Solar Plexus Chakra

Welcome to Over a Cup of Tea with Celia M.
Chakra Series ~  3 of 7

This week I have chosen this beautiful Paragon bone china teacup made in England for its yellow colour which is the same color of our third chakra known as the Solar Plexus Chakra.

Third Chakra - The Solar Plexus Chakra ~ aka the Manipura is located at the diaphragm. is associated with our physical center, personal power, desire, inner-strength, emotions, instincts, and “gut” feelings.

If the solar plexus chakra becomes unbalanced, you may feel very stressed all the time and powerless to gain control, leaving you mentally and physically exhausted.   You may have “gut” feelings but are not sure of what or where they are coming from, contributing to your distress and discomfort.  The stress of an unbalanced solar plexus chakra also contributes to poor memory and concentration.

Symptoms of Imbalance:
Emotional :  lack of memory and concentration, frequent fearing, feeling uncentered, sugar addictions, insomnia, anger, lack of motivation, no willpower, need to control, low self esteem, submissive.

Physical : digestive and digestive disorders, indigestion, food allergies, eating disorders, poor metabolism, diabetes, obesity, eczema, acne, and other stress-related skin conditions.

Three simple ways to help balance your Solar Plexus Chakra:

~Strengthen your core by doing planks. Start by lying on the floor, face down. Place your hands below your shoulders, arms straight. With toes curled under, gently lift the entire body off the floor- making sure body and legs are in a straight line parallel to the floor. Hold for at least 60 seconds. Repeat three times.

Steep a cup of tea lemon peel, chicory root, ginger, lemongrass, lemon balm, orange peel, hibiscus, cinnamon and coriander blend repeat the following affirmations as you sip your tea:

I am the power of peace
I am the power in the presence of God
I am making a difference in my life and the life of others
I express my power with great peace
I am at home with my power
I know the power of me is making a difference

Sit comfortably, feet flat on the ground, close your eyes and visualize a yellow disk/ball spinning at your belly - feel the vibration and motion of it spinning gently, breath in and out - with each breath the disk/ball becomes stronger, and more brilliant filling your whole abdomen and spins at a consistent speed smoothly and balanced.

Benefits of balancing and opening  the solar plexus chakra allows you to feel peaceful in your mind, body, and spirit.  Relaxed and comfortable in your own skin.  The energy of this chakra permeates to the other chakras relieving many physical and psychological diseases or disorders.  It allows you to be more aware of your own energy and being, comfortable in your decisions, and psychically connected to your “gut” feelings so that you may act accordingly with confidence.

Are you working on Balancing Your Chakras?

Love and Blessings,

Feel Energized and Confident - Balance your Sacral Chakra

Welcome to Over a Cup of Tea with Celia M.
Chakra Series ~  2 of 7

This week I have chosen this beautiful Aynsley bone china teacup made in England for its orange colour which is the same color of our second chakra known as the SACRAL Chakra.

Second Chakra - The Sacral Chakra ~ aka the Svadhisthana , is located in the lower abdomen, below the navel is a power center directly related to sexuality, creativity, and emotions.

If the sacral chakra becomes unbalanced, you  will have a lack of energy flow throughout the entire body. You might not be open to people in general. If your Sacral Chakra is weak, you struggle with a healthy self-image.You may feel extremely lethargic and lacking interest for life, particularly exercise and sex.

Symptoms of Imbalance:
Emotional : Eating disorders, addictions, low self-confidence, dependency issues, low libido, and unbalanced emotions.

Physical : kidney problems and urinary tract infections, chronic lower back pain, sexual disorders, infertility, gynecological problems, dysfunctional menstrual cycles, and problems with the intestines, spleen, and gallbladder.

Three simple ways to help balance your Sacral Chakra:

~Sit comfortably, cross legged. Inhale, pushing the tip of your spine backward, opening the front of your sacrum, expanding and filling your lower belly. Imagine you are stretching your hips wide. Exhale, moving your sacrum in the opposite direction, pressing the navel back toward the spine. Repeat, building up speed as you go. Allow the fluidity of this pelvic movement to flow all the way up the spine.

Steep a cup of  green tea, orange, apple, pear, mango, rose hips, hibiscus blend and repeat the following affirmations as you sip your tea:

I am connected with my creative source
I am creating beautiful experiences in my life
I am comfortable receiving love
I am comfortable in my relationships
I am enough

Sit comfortably, feet flat on the ground, close your eyes and visualize an orange disk/ball spinning in the lower abdomen, below the navel - feel the vibration and motion of it spinning gently, breath in and out - with each breath the disk/ball becomes stronger and spins at a consistent speed smoothly and balanced.

Benefits of balancing and opening the sacral chakra allows you to feel energized and confident in all aspects of your life. You feel inspired and life seems to flow. People are attracted to your positive energy and opportunities open for you.  With a healthy sacral chakra, you are able to live in the moment and experience life to the fullest.  Physical tasks become easier while stamina increases.

Would love for you to share in the comments additional tips you may have tried
that also help to balance the sacral chakra.
